There's no escape from my masterplan

Notes.: on a Snap!

Jocelyn Brown, famous legend soul singer and Dance Diva, is one of the most sampled voices in music history with her rear pair of lungs. Her track from 1985 'Love's Gonna Get You' contains the line 'I've Got the Power' which was famously sampled in the global smash hit of the same year by German electronica group, Snap! She is probably more famous now for her voice sampling in music and was since used by Moby hit 'Go'. This is the power of sampling Jocelyn Brown and the result taking the world by storm.

More than interesting, and in original format is that tune 'Love's Gonna Get You' by poor old JB.
Listen out at 5.40 for the surprise.
Listen out also at 7.00 for another.

Not so much is Michael Mind's (as little as 2009) version of the same track. This one from young German deejay from Aachen (Real name Jens Kindervater; 'Show me Love', 'Blinded by the lights','Feel your body'), is possibly known more for the famous line in this same tune "Why waste your time, you know your gonna be mine, (there's no escape from my masterplan)" being repeated ad nausuem. Perhaps there are reasons why some people forget these things. Listen if you dare, remind yourself of this anseo.

Everyone from Palestine waves Hello

In this same trip to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, I was amazed by the incredibly friendly and welcoming nature of the people living in the West Bank. Passing by in a tour bus, many of them waved at me, and I was only to happy to take a few snaps of the warm moments of their raw yet beautiful gestures..
Here are some below... This was one of my favourite things about this trip and one of the few things about this torn apart land that brought me joy. This is real, made in, Palestine.

Mind would he snap at you

"Mind would he snap at you"...

These are the wise words of my great, late grandmother Josephine, who would bark this at me, my brothers and our cousins, while playing in her garden with her great, late dog Brandy. 'Nanny' as we used to call her, would let this roar frequently during weekly visits to her house, in case our precious little persons would fall prey, to the wrath of his vicious Jack Russell teeth. This would happen while we all used to run after the foot-ball, all of us, at the same time. As much as we adored playing for hours on end during long summer days, the thoughts of Brandy snapping at us, would bring a little fear into our playtime.

The word snap was one of the first I learned used in a different way by my late Aunt Margaret, when rounding us all up with her camera to have our photograph taken. Needless to say, our cheesy grins were many the happy subject of our proud aunties photo collection throughout the years.

As a young child, the double meaning of this word confused me. Little did I know with growing up, the fear I had from this word would change from dogs to humans which often happened when I was the one behind the lens taking the snaps, and some folk did not like it very much.

Mind Would He Snap At You is primarily a photography blog, written by a blagarrd from the midlands, who likes taking snaps to capture the moments that should and some that probably shouldn't be.

It is a journey of learning about digital photography, a means for documenting the happenings of an eager but self conscious photographer, starting out with his new DSLR for the first time. Some personal interests or obsessions, be they artistic, political or musical will be thrown in alongside the fondest of memories.

A shaky start to those who can comprehend... (Anyone?)
