A Night Ablaze

LINK HERE.:
An old school neighbour, and one of the original members of the Bonavalley Rovers, Barry Feeney from Athlone has just released his debut album 'In My World' on itunes. BUY IT. It is an experience to listen to what this dark horse has put into music.
In My World is the debut offering from Irish singer songwriter Barry Feeney performing under the title The Night Ablaze. The album runs the gamut of human emotions from fear to love and anywhere in between. The hooks and soaring melodies add an urgency to the songs that renders them at times powerful, at times poignant but always beautiful.

Mia Farrow who went on to have 15 children in total, 13 of which are alive today who have given her 9 grandchildren.

Inspiring stuff out of this guy, now working as a special advisor to Hilary Clinton. Swoon job.

GRIMES - OBLIVION

This young chap is looking like she is embarking upon a swell career. She also looks a great swell. I'd say she is fun to hang around with. I'm sure some day she will like to hang around with me.

Truly astonishing and magnificent short film taken with camera phones. Kind of a speeded up version of Dickens' A tale of two cities. SUBLIME

Love in many guises

Sir, – An interview by Kathy Sheridan with Marian Finucane (Magazine, March 17th) confirms a sclerotic view of sexuality at the heart of the RTÉ documentary on Nuala O’Faolain, who was my bean chéile for 15 years.

Moral gatekeepers of the documentary wrongly ask if Nuala was bisexual? A trivial detail like gender would never have prevented Nuala from loving another. Nuala was sexual, I was irresistible. Readers, we loved each other. – Yours, etc,

Taken from The Irish Times - March 21st 2012, in response to the recent Nuala O'Faolain documentary recently airing on RTE 1. Watch it here on Real player.

This program is truly worth taking the time to look at as it gives an excellent insight not only the Life and Times of O'Faolain, but also the interesting people whom she surrounded herself with including Nell and Marian Finucane (below) who all had a part to play in the 80's TV program The Women's Program. The recent documentary was very well handled by Marian who was very close to O'Faolain. Fanicuane's expression during the program was encapsulating of her deeply inspective persona but also displaying great fondness and respect for the true character and personality which was, Nuala.

Cowardice asks the question, ‘Is it safe?’ Expediency asks the question, ‘Is it politic?’ Vanity asks the question, ‘Is it popular?’ But, conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’ And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right.

Young Political Activist Found

A photo taken from 1994 in London a subgroup set up by the Revolutionary Communist Party.: the Campaign Against Militarism (CAM), which was set up to fight against western military intervention. CAM organised protests against the military interventions in Somalia, Bosnia and Iraq. On 10 September 1993 seventy Somalis and CAM supporters occupied the United States embassy after an alleged massacre of civilians in Mogadishu the only time it has happened.

A friend recently came across himself (Colin Glennon from Mullingar) pictured on this wikipedia photo taken in 1994. What a fantastic shot. His stories on studying politics in the University of North London were very inspiring for the New Year..
